Bonnet Hill Community Association was created to support and enhance the physical, cultural and social values of the Bonnet Hill community.
We do nice things like community bush-fire awareness activities, native tree planting and road safety campaigns. We provide an effective way for the community to raise issues with the local Kingborough council.
We also care for and enjoy the local environment.
BHCA is delighted to be collaborating with Sparking Conversations, Igniting Action which is a community bushfire resilience project that is working across Greater Hobart to provide communities with the support they need to better prepare for, and build resilience to, bushfire.
Over the next two years the team is working with 12 neighbourhoods, including Bonnet Hill, sparking conversations about bushfire preparedness and igniting actions that will help keep the community safe during a bushfire. The team is working with individual households and broader communities to strengthen existing networks and build new connections between neighbours that will help to create more bushfire resilient communities.

BHCA successfully campaigned to have a safety lane on the 'uphill lanes' of Channel Highway so that cyclists and motorists can all enjoy the iconic trip 'over the Bonnet'
